The Story of
Vadattupara

Who We Are

We are the custodians of Vadattupara — a small, pristine village hamlet under Kuttampuzha Panchayath in Kothamangalam Taluk, Ernakulam District of Kerala, India. Known reverently as the "Queen of Village Beauty", our village is a living testament to nature's finest artistry.

Our mission is to share the untouched splendor of Vadattupara with the world while preserving its ecological integrity for generations to come. We believe that true luxury lies in nature's embrace — the sound of the Periyar River flowing through ancient forests, the mist rising from Sundari Waterfalls at dawn, the dance of rare butterflies along rocky streams.

To promote Vadattupara as a premier eco-tourism destination while maintaining its pristine character. We are committed to sustainable tourism practices that benefit both visitors and the local community, ensuring that development never comes at the cost of nature's sanctity.

The History

Vadattupara has been known for its traditional culture and hospitality over the years. The village has been a silent guardian of Kerala's natural heritage, home to the endangered Asian Elephant, Bengal Tiger, and the Grizzled Giant Squirrel. Its forest reserves, spanning over 100 hectares, have remained largely untouched — a rare privilege in today's rapidly developing world.

In recent years, travelers have discovered what locals have always known — that Vadattupara's Sundari Waterfalls, rocky streams, and bamboo-shaded trails offer an experience no resort can replicate. The nickname "Sundari Waterfalls" was bestowed by enchanted visitors, a testament to the falls' captivating beauty.

Cinematic Legacy

Vadattupara's breathtaking landscapes have made it a favorite destination for Malayalam filmmakers. Movies including Pulimurugan, Shikkar, Shikkari Shambu, Oru Pazhaya Bomb Kadha, Ashwaroodan, and Oliyambukal have been filmed here. The local community has always been welcoming and supportive of film productions, adding another layer to Vadattupara's rich cultural tapestry.
